Music Producer Hammer Returns From Hiatus, Announces New Compilation

Legendary Ghanaian music producer Edward Nana Poku Osei known by the showbiz name Hammer of The Last Two is back to music.

The producer who took some time off to focus on his newfound love, bread production, has announced he is returning to active music.

In a post shared to his socials, Hammer revealed he has been working on the project for the past two years. He also revealed the compilation is mostly dominated by new school artists with a touch of some veteran artists as well.

Titled Upper Echelon, the new album is scheduled for release in early 2024.

Hammer would however not share any further details.

Somewhere in April 2022, Hammer revealed his only return to the studio would be because of Ghanaian international superstar Black Sherif.

Speaking in an interview with Giovanni Caleb on Showbiz 360 monitored by Nydjlive, the producer revealed he’s inspired to go back to the recording studio but only with Black Sherif.

“I’m not done. I’ll go back to the studio. I’m inspired. I spoke to Blacko and told him, that if I’ll ever go back to the studio, it will be because of him.” Hammer said.

He also spoke highly of Black Sherif describing him as a “master of melodies.”

“He is a master of melodies. It’s very rare for artists to be playing with notes. The notes he hits when singing are very emotional notes and if he decides to learn the guitar he will be a master at it. I will implore him to learn how to play the guitar at once because he has what it takes…” he added.

Having recorded with several talents including  Obrafour, Tinny, Kwaw Kese, Ayigbe Edem, Sarkodie, Kwabena Kwabena, KK Fosu, Jay Dee, Eugene (Praye), Teephlow and many others, Hammer until recently quit music production for bread business.

Asked why he’s stayed off music production, Hammer revealed he was ‘bored’ and wanted to explore new opportunities.
