Video: Ghanaian Drill’s Golden Boy Yaw Tog Pays Tribute To Pop Smoke

Undoubtedly a golden voice in the drill scene in Ghana, 16-year-old musician Yaw Tog has paid tribute to American rapper Pop Smoke who is considered to have popularized drill.

Speaking in an exclusive interview, the Sore hitmaker paid tribute to Pop Smoke and revealed how he was a big influence to his career.

“I first heard drill through Pop Smoke, RIP. The vibe on the song was crazy so I decided to try drill. I linked up with the Asakaa Boys and we did everything. It was magic too and boom! Here we are!” he said.

Born Thorsten Owusu Gyimah, Yaw Tog is still yet to come to terms with the astronomical growth of his career.

In this interview, he talks about the remix to Sore which features British rap artist Stormzy and GroundUp artist Kwesi Arthur.

Pop Smoke who was gunned down in a Hollywood Hills rental home exactly a year ago.
