You must have just landed from Mars if you’ve not heard or read news about Ghanaian rap artist Kwesi Arthur and his BET Nomination.
In as much as we are proud of him, our interest at this moment lays in the unprecedented the national reaction the news has received.

First of its kind, the news of Kwesi Arthur’s BET nomination for the Best New International Act spread like wildfire with almost everyone who matters in the Ghanaian creative arts industry rallying for support for him and Enoch Nana Yaw Oduro-Adjei also known as Trigmatic believes this is the beginning of a revolution.

Speaking to NY DJ on #RYSENSHYNE, the Where We Dey Go singer revealed Kwesi Arthur’s nomination didn’t come as a surprise considering the enormous effort the artist had put into his craft the previous year. However, he was ‘blown away’ by the reaction by Ghanaians.
“For me this news didn’t come as a surprise but what came as a surprise to me was the reaction from Ghanaians; that everybody jumping on the Kwesi Arthur wagon is the beginning of a revolution. For me, I was blown away. This has not happened before and for it to happen…. Having everybody (not just from our industry) rally for support for him means a lot and this is what we have been asking for all the time..”
Speaking on other school of thoughts that the national appeal is as a result of no Ghanaian being nominated in this year’s BET Awards, Trigmatic asserted that does not wipe away the fact that the support has been national.
“It really doesn’t matter why people are rooting for him. What matters is that we’re doing it and it’s for a good cause. Believe you, if we had done this for Azonto, Stonebwoy being in Miami and so many other things, Ghana would have been place rightly where it deserves to be.”
Trigmatic however hopes, this national push continues for the creative arts industry.
BET International on Tuesday June 5 2018 announced nominees for this year’s BET Viewers Choice Best New International Act which included Grind Day hitmaker Kwesi Arthur.
Among superstars who have rallied for support for Kwesi Arthur are Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Trigmatic, Yvonne Okoro, Samini, Wanlov, Anas Aremeyaw Anas and many others.
