Photos: STUPIDITY on the rise; Cape Coast Sports Stadium already under abuse

A very sensible individual standing on the chair instead of sitting on it

In as much as we are all happy about the fact that Ghana can pride itself in a new 15,000 capacity sports stadium located in the Central Region of Ghana, I still can’t seem to get my head around pictures circulating all over social media about a sickening and disgusting behaviour put up by some individuals present at the memorable occasion exhibited.

The pictures circulating seem to suggest a section of the individuals present found no reason in using the chairs beautiful fixed for its reasons i.e sitting their asses on them but rather stand on them to watch whatever because they are dwarfs and needed enough support to see whatever was going on.

With a very poor maintenance culture already as a country, it is surprising that any well thinking individual will go to this extent to exhibit stupidity and a lack of nationalism.

Do you know what hurts? These same individuals will in the next few months turn heads and point accusing fingersĀ  over broken chairs and insult either sports authorities or perhaps governments. Yes, in a county where everything is associated to religion or governments, the gods or governments continue to suffer irrespective of the challenge.

Pretty sure this is not the first time such a thing is happening if you often visit any of the sports stadium for football games in Ghana.

If the sports stadium is already being treated this way, I wonder how the facility will look like in a year or more.

Anyway, Pulse Ghana reports that the $35 million project was financed by the Chinese government as a grant to the people of Ghana.

Construction of the stadium began in August 2013 till the final inspection of the facilities on Christmas eve last year (24 December,2015) by officials of both Ghana and China. Earlier in January 2016 after the installation of the flood lights, the Chinese construction company turned on the lights for a test run, which was later followed by the official handing over from the Chinese engineers to Ghanaian engineering firm, the Architectural Engineering Services Limited (AESL).

The multi sports facility boast of 21 fully furnished rooms that accommodates two individuals per room, two halls for table tennis and boxing respectively, with the latter loaded with equipment and gym equipment for the boxers. There are two outdoor basketball courts, one handball and one tennis court, an eight lane running tracks and a football pitch.

Share with me your experience and what you make of these individuals and the behaviour put up.
