Veteran Actress Akofa Edjeani Assumes New Role As Ghana’s Investment And Tourism Envoy To Türkiye
Veteran Ghanaian actress Akofa Edjeani has been appointed as Ghana’s Investment and Tourism Envoy to Türkiye, marking a new chapter beyond her celebrated career in the creative industry.
Edjeani announced the development on Instagram on Monday, August 17, saying she accepted the responsibility with “deep humility, gratitude, and a strong sense of duty.”
She said the role presents an opportunity to use her experience and networks to help attract investment, promote Ghana’s tourism potential, and strengthen international partnerships.
The veteran actress also pointed to the creative sector as an important part of Ghana’s economic and diplomatic engagement. According to her, the country’s music, film, fashion, arts, and other creative talents can help tell Ghana’s story globally while creating opportunities for investment, jobs, and growth.
“This role is not simply a position; it is a call to service,” Edjeani said, adding that she was ready “to listen, to learn, to collaborate, and most importantly, to deliver.” Her announcement has since drawn congratulatory messages from colleagues, friends, and well-wishers as she begins her new assignment.
