Askof Productions Limited, organizers of Miss Kidi Ghana, an all-female beauty pageant for kids between 5 and 12 years which has recently come under immense criticism is least excited at Joy Prime, its broadcast partner.

The disappointment comes after Joy Prime in a statement announced with immediate effect the suspension of the airing of Miss Kidi Ghana for what people have described as indecent exposure of kids in bikinis.

The company expressed its disappointment in Joy Prime for its lack of professionalism in trying to save its image thereby laying the blame on the door of the organizers.

A statement reads sighted by Ghana’s Hub For Pop Culture & Urban Entertainment Website – www.nydjlive.com reads;

“We are disappointed by the lack of professionalism exhibited by Joy Prime regarding their publication on this subject matter.

With all intents and purposes, the publication is a calculated attempt to jeopardize the goodwill of Miss Kidi Ghana.

First, the welfare principle (of children) has been the keystone that has driven Miss Kidi Ghana. And ‘at all times’ we have taken steps to ensure that we protect the welfare of children in our quest to nurture children with talents and to enable them to realise their full potentials.

Due to this, before every episode of Miss Kidi Ghana is aired on Joy Prime we send the feed not less than 72hours for the approval of the media company whose platform would be used to air it (ie. JoyPrime).

There has been no instance where the show has been aired on Joy Prime without their approval of the contents we present to them.

We are not oblivious of the fact that children need to be protected. It is for that reason that we make sure that the content we present for airing is devoid of any substance that may be detrimental to any child.

We are of the opinion that, Joy Prime’s publication on the suspension of Miss Kidi Ghana is a breach of our contractual right, and well as, the rights of third party sponsors.

In the interim, we wish to apologize to all our audience and we also would want to assure them that we would insist on what is legally and contractually right.”
