Actress and host of E Talk, an entertainment Talk Show on GhOne Television, Amanda Jissih has backed calls by many to erode the erroneous impression that movies produced from Kumasi which are often tagged “Kumawood” are done by lazy producers who virtually do not know what they are about.
Amanda who has off late starred in some of the movies in an interview with NY DJ on the Kapital Entertainment Unplugged Show in Kumasi disclosed her recent involvement in the sector exposed her to the hardworking nature of the producers, actors and individuals in the industry.
“Speaking from afar, you might think the people others will term Kumawood are doing nothing but trust me, they are really putting in so much but we just don’t see”
Explaining her choice of acting in Kumawood movies, she made known she believed a good actress or actor should be able to work in any movie irrespective of the occasion.
“I’ve starred in a couple of what people call glamour movies but I also love to work with the likes of Kwadjo Nkansah Lilwin, Kwaku Manu, Nana Ama McBrown and the others as it is always fun. Moreover, there’s that unity amongst them”
She further cited the love and support the Akan movie fraternity showed Nana Ama McBrown after her accident and the recent love shown actress Emelia Brobbey at the Accra International Airport after the alleged shoplifting scandal as reasons for joining the fraternity.
She disclosed her latest movie will hit TV screens soon.
