Kojo Manuel Kickstarts Next Gen Tour From His Alma Mater, Opoku Ware School

Renowned media personality and award-winning hypeman Emmanuel Kojo Kusi Nyantakyi, professionally known as Kojo Manuel, has officially launched a nationwide mentorship dialogue series dubbed “Next Gen Tour” aimed at empowering the next generation of Ghanaian creatives.

The initiative kicked off on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Opoku Ware School (OWASS). Choosing his alma mater as the starting point, Kojo Manuel seeks to bridge the gap between formal education and the evolving creative arts industry while addressing the critical issue of mental health among youth.

Breaking away from the traditional, rigid format of academic seminars, the event reflected Kojo Manuel’s signature high-energy style. The session opened with a massive jam session featuring DJ Bongo from YFM Kumasi.

The atmosphere at Opoku Ware was electric as students chanted along to hits from Ghanaian heavyweights such as Black Sherif, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, The Asakaa Boys and more.

The excitement reached a fever pitch when fellow alumnus and rapper Ypee made a surprise appearance. Delivering a high-octane guest performance, Ypee joined Kojo Manuel to celebrate their shared heritage with the current student body.

Beyond the music and entertainment, the dialogue centred on resilience. In a moving segment, Kojo Manuel opened up about his personal struggles, specifically detailing how the passing of his mother profoundly impacted his mental well-being.

“Seek help whenever you feel overwhelmed,” Manuel urged the students. “Your mental health is just as important as your career ambitions.”

By sharing his own story, Manuel aimed to destigmatize mental health discussions within the school environment, encouraging students to prioritize their emotional health as they navigate their formative years.

The Next Gen Tour is designed to provide practical insights into the creative arts industry, offering students a roadmap for unconventional career paths that are often overlooked in traditional curricula.

The project is powered by A MAD Culture, an entertainment powerhouse dedicated to fostering creative talent.

Following the successful launch in Kumasi, the dialogue series will tour various senior high schools across Ghana in the coming months.
