Ghanaian dancehall artist Kaakie has parted ways with the record label that supported her craft from day 1, Xtra Large Music.
The musician who had gone quiet since the release of her Kaakit Up album somewhere in December 2016 broke the news via Instagram saying, “It has been hard for me to break the news to you but today I am, am no more an artiste under XLM”
The news of the break up hits us hard in the face but per her own post and what we at Ghana’s Hub For Pop Culture And Urban Entertainment News – www.nydjlive.com gather seems both parties did not part ways amicably.
According to Kaakie, her social media pages including Facebook and Twitter will henceforth not be operated or managed by her leading us to think XLM might have taken over those pages but for what reason? I mean what would they use the brand name and page for? Rename it or sell it to a blogger for promotional purposes?
Perhaps, Kaakie is leaving music for her nursing profession fully.
Well, check out Kaakie’s post.
“Hi, greetings to everyone here. Am sure it has come to the notice of everyone that I have been silent for some time now. I wish to inform you all respectfully that as from today am no more a member, and an artiste with and under XLM. We have worked together for all these years and Together we gave you my dear fans good music. It has been hard for me to break the news to you but today I am, am no more an artiste under XLM. Hence XLM do not represent Kaakie anymore.. and for my fans on facebook and twitter, I wish to inform you that the pages are not handle or managed by me. If there is anything I would want u my dear fans to know, will put it up here.. in due time my new Facebook fan page will be known to you all. Thanks for your support. I really appreciate it.”
It is unknown what Kaakie would take up to next. Whether she sticks to music or continues with her nursing profession.
