Elton John to Marry David Furnish in A private Ceremony in May

Elton John and his longtime partner David Furnish are ready to take their eight year long relationship to another level as the two are said to offcially tie the knot in May 2014. Furnish told the Las Vegas Review Journal on Friday, March 28 that they will get married in spring.

“We don’t feel the need to take an extra step legally. But since we’re committed for life, we feel it’s really important to take that step, and take advantage of that amazing change in legislation,” Furnish said. “We all live by example.”

The two entered into a British civil partnership on the day it came into law in 2005 and would therefore take advantage of the new Legislation passed some few weeks ago in England to allow same-sex marriage.

The couple serve as parents to 3-year-old and 16-month-old sons, Zachary and Elijah. Furnish revealed that their upcoming wedding would be simple, unlike their first reception. “I think what we’ll do is go to a registry office in England in May, and take the boys with us, and a couple of witnesses,” he said.
