Canadian born Certified Lover Boy hitmaker Drake is no longer a 2022 Grammy Award nominee.
The Recording Academy has heeded a request by Drake’s management to exempt him from the 2022 Grammy Awards despite securing two nominations earlier.
Earlier, rumours suggested that the musician who has often registered his displeasure at the Grammy Awards wanted out of the awards.
In a response to the request, the Recording Academy has already added the Drake changes to its list of changes, which includes this note:
“Each year, the Recording Academy makes adjustments to the nominations list as necessary after the list is first published. Common changes are often the result of updated credits and may include spelling corrections, title modifications, and the addition of nominees who were not included in the original submission, among other revisions. This year, for the first time, we are making these updates public to ensure transparency and accessibility to the most up-to-date and accurate information.”

Drake has won just four Grammys over the years, far fewer than such peers as Jay-Z (23) and Kanye West (22).
