A victim of the Adum PZ fire outbreak in Kumasi has apologized to the Member of Parliament for Asawase and the Minister for the Interior, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, for jeering him off and rejecting bags of rice and other relief items he had brought to them weeks ago.
In a video shared by BoatengAmeyawNews, the unnamed victim explained that the incident was unfortunate and that the reaction of the victims was based on the heat of the moment.
He narrated how tough life has been for them and their families since the fire outbreak that ravaged their businesses.
“Things are tough right now. We can’t even give housekeeping money. If we’ve offended someone, too, we plead that they forgive us so that we can all unite, surge forward, earn something from our hustle, and feed our homes and families,” he said.
He also apologized to the Minister for the Interior, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, and pleaded that some relief items be brought to their aid.
“We are ready to accept any relief item that comes our way now. We initially rejected the food and other items because of the heat of the moment. A lot of things had compounded at the time, hence our reaction. We will even accept gari. Muntaka should forgive us and let bygones be bygones,” he said.
The victim also pleaded with other well-to-do personalities in the country to come to their aid.
