The “Rockstar”, Kuami Eugene, reaffirmed his status as a highlife powerhouse on Boxing Day, delivering a masterclass in live performance at the maiden edition of his rebranded “Highlife Time“ concert.
Held at the plush Milan Lounge in Kumasi, the event was more than just a show; it was a celebration of Ghana’s rich musical heritage.
Previously known as the Hero’s Concert, the decision to move the event to the Ashanti Regional capital proved to be a stroke of genius. The intimate setting of Milan Lounge was packed to capacity with Highlife enthusiasts and industry stalwarts who gathered to witness the genre’s “intangible cultural heritage” come to life.
Veteran radio presenter and DJ, Andy Dosty got the party started with a carefully curated playlist that got the crowd geared up for what was yet to happen.
The energy at the venue shifted to high gear the moment Pure FM’s Ship Dealer took the mic. With his signature comedic flair and infectious energy, he introduced Kuami Eugene, setting a jubilant tone for the night.

The “Nation’s Worshipper”, Broda Sammy, brought a spiritual yet vibrant dimension to the night. In a touching tribute, he joined Kuami Eugene to honour the legendary Daddy Lumba, performing some of the icon’s greatest hits to the delight of the Oseikrom crowd.
The Kumerica movement was well represented as rap sensation YPee joined the Rockstar on stage, blending contemporary rap vibes with the soulful Highlife rhythm.
