Sonnie Badu has apologized to Wope Dodo hit maker Yaw Siki.
The Baba hit maker Sonnie Badu today apologized to secular turned Gospel artist and evangelist Yaw Siki for publicly announcing his intent to support the artist.
“My motive was to let him know that we are there for him. It was a touchy subject when he said he depends on money from people when he preaches. My motive was not to embarrass him, if that is how he felt I apologize”, he said during an interview with Antoine Mensah, host of Lifestyle Cafe on Live FM.
Couple of days ago, news went viral that Yaw Siki had turned down an offer by Sonnie Badu and his ministry to support him after his touching interview with MzGee became the talk of town.
Yaw Siki’s decision to turn down the support was biblical as he believed a good deed done must not be announced to the world.
In an interview with KMJ, Yaw Siki said;
“I love my brother Sonni Badu so much and I respect him. What he did is an act of righteousness but Matthew 6:1-4 says, ‘…So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honoured by others.
Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret…’ So based on this word, I am not able to take the offer.
In a recent interview, Yaw Siki disclosed he will reach out to Sonnie Badu as he believes he (Sonnie Badu) misunderstood his comment.
Earlier, Sonnie Badu announced Yaw Siki turned down the offer because he felt offended by the series of questions his team posed to him. In an Instagram post, he said;
“I am actually getting a bit worked out by this. The truth of the matter is the young man started getting offended when my PR started asking him questions to get to know him. Like who his spiritual father is, would he like to go to any Bible school ? What church does he belong to, now these are standard questions we normally ask because we believe that even though you have a calling you have to be directed.
After my PR Spoke to him he did say he would get back to us. Only for us to hear it on the radio, when he was asked by my PR again why he said that on radio he answered and said he felt the questions where as though he was applying for a loan..
Now I love the youthful seal but being in ministry for many years you will get to the point where those who pretend to lead you on will leave you because you have now become a burden on them … Now I officially close this chapter and focus on more orphans and widows as we have been doing already ..”
