Simon Cowell Offers £63-million To Lover
Simon Cowell has reportedly offered around £63-million (around R949-million) in child support to his pregnant mistress Lauren Silverman.
Lauren – the estranged wife of Simon’s friend Andrew Silverman – is expected to give birth in February 2014, and music mogul Simon has pledged to pay her £3-million a year until the baby turns 21 after taking legal advice over the “messy” situation.
The Sunday Express quoted a legal expert with intimate knowledge of the case as saying: “Simon isn’t going to dispute that he is the father but the last thing he wants is for his name and reputation to be publicly dragged through the dirt.
“The truth is, he doesn’t yet know whether he will end up marrying Lauren somewhere down the line in years to come but, in the meantime, he wants to ensure he does the right thing for her and their baby as well as resolving this mess.”
According to the Sunday Express, Simon is also planning to offer a “job for life” to Lauren – most likely a role as “property manager” of his various estates in the US and Britain.
In addition, Cowell – who has been named in divorce papers filed by Andrew – has reportedly “happily agreed” to cover his former friend’s legal costs if he drops an adultery claim in favour of a no contest divorce.
In terms of the prenuptial agreement signed, Lauren stands to gain at least $3-million in her divorce from Andrew.
Meanwhile, Andrew has been spotted at the lavish New York home he shared with Lauren and their seven-year-old son Adam, but friends insist that his visit was only for the sake of his son.
One pal told the New York Post newspaper: “Andrew stayed at the house to create some normalcy for their son.
“There was no talk about the divorce settlement. That is being handled by the lawyers. There was minimal conversation between them. It was done purely for their child.”
Cowell has jetted off for a month-long break in St. Tropez, France, with a group of friends.
