Organizers of the annual Ghana Party In The Park Festival held in the UK have revealed why Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale missed out on the event despite being heavily advertised.

“We had agreements with every artist we put on and put in every measure to make sure everyone was here for the event. We booked his plane tickets, everything. As you know some of his team members are here already in the UK. As I know, a monetary demand was made hours before the show,” he said.

Asked if the organization would take the artist on legally, Dennis Tawiah revealed the company was not focused on that at the moment but rather on making sure the right apologies get to the fans.

“Right now, going to court is not what..right now, what we are looking at is first of all making sure apologies go to the fans. Going to court would not solve the problem. The day is come and gone already. Am I surprised about what happened? No! That is part of the reason why we don’t base our events on artists…” he said.

On the part of Kofi Kinaata, Dennis Tawiah revealed his (Kofi Kinaata) took a wrong decision in terms of timing and had nothing to do with money.

It can be recalled that Shatta Wale posted cryptic messages on social media hours before the show suggesting the organizers could not meet his financial requirements.

He tweeted;

Kofi Kinaata who could not make it to the event also released a statement apologizing for his inability to make it.

The 18th edition of the Ghana Party In The Park took place at Trent Park in London on Saturday, July 16, 2022.

The event saw thousands in attendance with performances from artists including Gyakie, Camidoh, Kelvyn Boy and many others.
