Phrimpong drops much acclaimed debut album ‘The School’

Coming off a very successful media tour with his debut single in 2015, Ghanaian songwriter/musician Derrick Frimpong Manso otherwise known as Phrimpong has followed up his efforts with the much acclaimed debut album, “The School’.

In an era where most Ghanaian musicians prefer the release of singles to an album, it is laudable and impressive to see a young witty musician come up with an 18 track album that features well renowned musicians such as Kontihene, Shattarako, Cabum, Kojo-Cue, Ryan Korsah, Boy Stiff and many others.

These unique talents add up to the already amazing talent and brings versatility to the album that had been described by few industry personalities who were privileged to hear the piece before its official release as a masterpiece.

In an exclusive interview with, Phrimpong disclosed the album was titled ‘The School’ because the impact it is expected to make will be none less than what established educational institutions teach. He goes on to say, “It teaches more than what the school as an institution does with its syllabi. It teaches, motivates and inspires”.

With production credits going to Zapp Mallet, Peewezle, iPappy, Tubhanibeats, Skiniwillies, the album was released under his record label Xxtra Music and currently available on several music buying sites including iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Spinlet, Shazam, 7Digital and many others.
