Ghanaian rap artist and CEO of SarkCess Music, Michael Owusu Addo well known by his stage name Sarkodie has attributed part of his continuous success to an advise by Ghana’s rap Doctor Okyeame Kwame.
Sarkodie in an interview with Bela Mundi as part of his media tour ahead of his fourth studio album release disclosed he would have been no where today but for the advise by the Woso hitmaker (Okyeame Kwame).
Asked how he keeps his head up amidst all the controversies and bad press around him, the artist explained Okyeame Kwame’s advise to concentrate on the positives than the negatives keeps him going.
“Okyeame Kwame once told me that almost 80% of individuals in every household like me and listen to my music religiously so why should I concentrate on the 20% who don’t like me?, he said.
According to him, concentrating on the minority will therefore be a great disrespect to the majority of his fans and followers and may also let him lose focus.
Sarkodie, after his concert at the Apollo Theatre was hit hit with several accusations of twisting history for a concert he dubbed “Sarkodie: History In The Making”.
The Adonai hitmaker in 2008 Sarkodie released his second album Rapperholic. It was later followed by a 30 track album Sarkolgy.
