The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South in the Ashanti Region, credited with the popular slang, ‘tweaaa’ has been dismissed. A statement signed the Executive Secretary to the President; Dr. Raymond Atuguba said “the president exercising the powers conferred on him by the Local Government Act section 204, has dismissed the DCE for Ahafo Ano South, Gabriel Barima with immediate effect.”
The statement said the Ashanti Regional Minister has been directed to act in his stead until a substantive DCE is appointed. Check the statement below:
REMOVAL OF HON. GABRIEL BARIMA AS DCE FOR AHAFO ANO SOUTH DISTRICT ASSEMBLY
The President, exercising the powers conferred on him by the Section 20(4) of the Local Government Act, Act 462, 1993 has dismissed Hon. Gabriel Barima as the District Chief Executive of Ahafo Ano South District Assembly with immediate effect.
The Ashanti Regional Minister has been directed to act until a substantive Chief Executive is appointed.
