The singing nun that took the Internet by storm back in March when she auditioned for Italy’s version of the hit reality singing competition “The Voice” not only made it to the show’s Season 2 finale, she won. Sister Cristina Scuccia won “The Voice” Friday night, still dressed in her simple nun’s habit with a necklace weighted down by a large silver cross.

Newser reported June 6 that Sister Cristina Scuccia, who shocked and delighted the judges of Italy’s “The Voice” and the rest of the world when she stepped up and auditioned with Alicia Keys’ “No One” earlier this year as a contestant on the reality show during its blind auditions, took the title and wasted no time giving thanks to God that she had won. She celebrated by reciting The Lord’s Prayer right on stage.

The 25-year-old singing nun, a member of the Ursuline Sisters of the Holy Family of the Roman Catholic Church, said that she was just following Pope Francis’ advice that the clergy become more outgoing in their ministry.

She has certainly done that, touching millions of lives around the globe…

When asked what brought her to “The Voice” (of Italy) to audition for the second season’s competition, Sister Cristina said, “I came here because I have a gift and I want to share that gift. I am here to evangelize.”

The video of her singing Keys’ “No One” has garnered over 52 million views to date and with the win, she will now have a much larger platform.
