NO MORE 100% GHANAIAN CONTENT! FIESTA Will Give Room For Foreign Content

Revamped Ghanaian music video channel FIESTA will no longer be home to ONLY Ghanaian content.

The channel which was acquired by EIB Network two years ago will now give approximately 20% room for foreign content so as to compete in the global space for eye balls.

Speaking exclusively to Ghana’s Hub For Pop Culture And Urban Entertainment – www.nydjlive.com, newly appointed channel manager, Jay Foley revealed despite leaving room for content from other parts of the world, priority would be given to Ghanaian content.

“Fiesta TV used to be a 100% Ghanaian music only television station but let’s be fair to ourselves. We’re not only Ghanaians living in Ghana. There are also people who are non Ghanaians including Francophones who also patronise Ghanaian channels and would love to have a little bit of what happens in their country in our circles.

Fiesta TV, I say is a Ghanaian owned television channel that prioritizes Ghanaian content but also gives room for content from other African countries. Fiesta will definitely give over 80% priority to Ghanaian content. We will therefore give 20% to the rest of the world to share,” he explained.

With well mapped out strategies a solid team in place, Jay Foley wishes to see FIESTA grow as the go to channel in the next six months despite the many challenges the channel had faced in the past.

“We’ve put in a strategy. I believe in my strategy. I believe that it’s going to work out. I’ve given myself 6 months to turn around and make an impact in Ghana.”

On July 27 2018, Jay Foley announced his resignation from Live FM where he worked as host of Live Breakfast Club (LBC) for 2 years.

An official launch of Fiesta is scheduled take place in Accra on August 22 while two other regional launches will held in Takoradi and Kumasi on September 1 and 8 respectively.

The revamped FIESTA went live on August 1, 2018 and be accessed on DStv channel 329.
