Award winning radio personality Jay Foley is headed to Fiesta.
It’s been two years since he first stepped in as host of Live Breakfast Club (LBC) from YFM but that chapter has been closed as award winning radio personality Jay Foley takes up a new appointment as head of Fiesta.
Formerly owned by Abraham Ohene Djan of OM Studios, EIB Network acquired the channel two (2) years ago and intends positioning it as a the number one (1) go to music channel on the African continent.
In an exclusive interview with Ghana’s Hub For Pop Culture And Urban Entertainment Website – www.nydjlive.com, Jay Foley admits the new role comes with a huge challenge but he is well prepared as he has gathered great experience over the years creating appealing content.
“I saw the transition of 4Syte TV from a 30 minutes TV show to a full fledged TV station. Even when it was a 30 minutes show, the number objective was to generate content every week; a strategy and a feat that Ignace achieved flawlessly and he taught us how to generate content.
Content that would appeal to people and get people to easily react to 4Syte TV and I must say that each and every single week we went on 4Sytve TV for the past 9 years of our lives (Jeremie and I), I learnt a learnt and acquired a lot about content management for entertainment television.”
It also opened me up to dealing and engaging with my number one client, that is the artist, how to go about them, how to handle them etc. That brought about the keyword management hence me managing artists and even developing LogOn Radio which helps artists to promote their music. In all this, it hasn’t been surprising that a challenge like this has been put before me..,” he added.
Jay Foley also touched on possibly his biggest challenge explaining how the channel had been left idle and on auto pilot for over 4 years.
He was however optimistic Fiesta would eventually become the toast of the people as they had the full support of DStv and will also put in the necessary works.
“With all these background and exposure that I have had with regards to generating content, I feel it’s ideal to put the things I’ve learnt on the table now and see how I can best influence a channel like Fiesta TV. I’ve spoken to a number of people. I’ve had an extensive discussions as well…”
According to Jay Foley, an official launch of Fiesta will take place in Accra on August 22 while two other regional launches will held in Takoradi and Kumasi on September 1 and 8 respectively.
Jay Foley bowed out of Live FM on his birthday July 27, 2018 to focus on his new commitment.
