Ugandan journalist Nancy Kacungira has been presented with her award for winning the maiden BBC World News Komla Dumor Award.
Speaking at the award presentation and debate held in London, elated Nancy disclosed the late Ghanaian brodcaster, Komla Dumor inspired her to contribute to telling the whole African story.
Nancy Kacungira is a Ugandan journalist with a background as an entrepreneur, radio and TV reporter and presenter.
In August 2015, Nancy was announced winner out of nearly 200 applicants.
She will spend three months at the BBC in London and also report from Africa for the BBC TV, radio and online.
The award was established to honour Komla Dumor, a presenter for BBC World News, who died suddenly aged 41.
