“Four years ago when I started on ‘AGT‘, my thought was it would be really cool to be a judge, because I think I have something to offer,” he says. “If I had any dream about this was that that I could take someone who was struggling and seriously give advice. I was told over and over again that I had no talent. I was in college radio. No one was banking on me.”
Meanwhile, the finalists got to perform with famous acts in the fields. The CraigLewis Band sang Foreigner‘s “I Want to Know What Love Is” with Yolanda Adams. The magicians including Derek Hughes, Oz Pearlman, Piff the Magic Dragon and Mat Franco performed with Penn & Teller. The duo later joined “The Professional Regurgitator” Stevie Starr onstage to help bring out the fish he swallowed during his act.
Next, the Top 5 were revealed and they were Oz, Drew, Stevie, The CraigLewis Band and Paul. Toward the end of the show, the ventriloquist Paul was declared as the winner. He took home $1 million and an opportunity to perform in Las Vegas.
Drew, who earned a standing ovation on the first part of the finale, was the runner-up. Oz finished in the third place, Stevie placed fourth and The CraigLewis Band was in the fifth place.
