Award-winning music artist Mr Eazi, (real name Oluwatosin Ajibade) is up to some major moves in the music business.
Barely a month after announcing the Africa Music Fund (AMF) worth $20 million dollars, Mr Eazi’s emPawa Africa is readying for the launch of a music distribution platform called Cinch Distro.
Although very little is known about the music distribution platform, an emPawa Digest made available to Ghana’s Hub For Pop Culture & Urban Entertainment – www.nydjlive.com suggests Cinch Distro will be launched in August 2020.
Mr Eazi in a recent interview explained how the platform will work after music acts register with them.
“The way it works is that they register on the platform and make their music. It has an AI-based tech that will filter their possible revenue based on the number of streams they get on the platform alongside a couple of other metrics.
The artists basically use the platform to distribute their music and we monitor their progress. That way we can make data-backed decisions about who to invest in,” he said.
emPawa Africa turned one on 18th July, to not so much fanfare but with a couple of announcements in line with the aim of empowering the next generation of African artists and creatives.
