Kenya Stripped Off Rights To Host CHAN 2018

The executive committee of the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) has stripped Kenya off rights to host the upcoming CHAN 2018.

According to Ghanaian sports personality Gary Al Smith who reports via Twitter, this latest development was an outcome of a meeting by the ExCo held in Accra, Ghana on Saturday, September 23 2017.

According to CAF, Kenya’s infrastructural preparations for CHAN 2018 among others including political and security situation was not good enough.



It is immediately unknown which country hosts the 2018 CHAN tournament which is slated for January 2018.

Bid for CHAN 2018 however opens tomorrow (Sunday September 24 2017) with inspection in the next 10 days. A new host is expected to be announced in 15 days time.

In a related development, host for AFCON 2019 has been announced and that is Cameroon. This was made known by CAF boss Dr. Ahmad Ahmad.
