WATCH: Jessica Opare Saforo Tells The Real Reason Why She Quit Citi TV And Citi FM
Exactly a year after quitting Accra-based Citi TV and Citi FM, multiple award-winning Ghanaian broadcaster Jessica Opare Saforo has let the cat out of the bag as to why she quit.
In a 13-minute video posted to her YouTube channel, Jessica revealed she always knew she would quit at one point but only waited for the right time.
She also shot down reports that suggested that she quit her job because she had fallen out with her then-boss, Samuel Attah-Mensah.
“There were rumours swirling all over the place. Things being said on my behalf that I had no idea about. People said I had fallen out with the boss. None of them was true. I left Citi because I thought it was time. It was time to truly explore being me. I had hit a milestone of 40 years a few months earlier and I knew that as soon as I hit 40, I was going to quit. It was just a matter of time and I wanted to do that before I turn 41,” she said.
Jessica revealed it has been a rewarding journey since quitting radio.
On January 28, 2022, Ghana’s Hub For Pop Culture & Urban Entertainment News – www.nydjlive.com broke the news of the resignation of the ace broadcaster.
While at Citi FM, Jessica hosted a number of shows including Citi Drive, Brunch in The Citi, The Traffic Avenue and Sister Sister.
The news was quite shocking as many wondered why the then Programs Manager who had eventually become the face of the radio station would quit.
