Celebrated Ghanaian rap artist Sarkodie has opened up about the absence of his former label signee, Strongman, from his upcoming concert, Rapperholic: The Homecoming Edition, which comes off on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with NY DJ on BTM Afrika, Sarkodie, who has spent the past week in Kumasi, readying for the highly anticipated concert, revealed he personally reached out to Strongman.
According to Sarkodie, an engagement with Strongman revealed the latter had been booked for a show in South Africa; hence, he could not make it to the Rapperholic concert in Kumasi.
Since the announcement of performers, fans have wondered and questioned the absence of Strongman from the performers, with many suggesting there was friction between the artists.
However, Sarkodie revealed that it was not “that deep.”
“I told Angel that one thing about SarkNation is that they’ll rather look for who isn’t there. Can you imagine I’ve announced Shatta Wale, Gyakie, Medikal and many others. All they’re looking at is who’s not there, and it’s amazing. It’s not that deep
I called Strongman myself, and he told me that he has a show the day before, but if he’s here on the 27th, he’s definitely going to be part. It’s a conversation. If he’s game today, we’ll put him on there, but he has a show, and we can’t risk it, but I put in a call,” he said.
