Ghanaian dancehall artist Charles Nii Armah also known as Shatta Wale has described as ‘disrespectful’ a recent trend on social media that seeks to compare his musical successes to that of legendary artist Daddy Lumba.
In a series of tweets, the dancehall artist who seemed surprised at the comparison believes the trend is a deliberate attempt by his ‘opponents’ to tarnish his image and make him look disrespectful in the sight of old folks.
According to him, Daddy Lumba paved the way for many including himself.
“It is very disrespectful to compare me to the legend Daddy Lumba. Everyone should stop that because the man in question paved the way for your favs and me myself.
This is what my opponents do to tarnish my image in public … They want to compare me and Lumba so that the oldies will hate me and say I don’t respect …” he tweeted.
He asked that he be compared to his peers including Sarkodie, Stonebwoy and not the legend.
“Why don’t you compare me to your so-called decorated sark and stone …”
Shatta Wale has been preparing for the release of his new album Shatta And Fans Album (SAFA).
