Ghanaian entertainment journalist and radio/TV pundit, Arnold Asamoah Baidoo is anticipating a 2025 Grammy nomination for reggae musician and radio presenter Blakk Rasta.
Speaking with NY DJ on Y102.5FM, Arnold revealed his anticipation is based on Blakk Rasta’s assertion that he had submitted his works for consideration.
“Blakk Rasta was making a lot of noise about the fact that he’s submitted his stuff to the Grammys. Yeah, so, I’m looking out for Blakk Rasta,” he said.
His comments come after social media went agog with rumours that a Ghanaian musician would be nominated for the 2025 Grammy Awards.
When asked if he was being sarcastic, Arnold Asamoah Baidoo responded in the negative, saying he was hopeful.
CEO of Image Bureau, George Quaye also suggested that Arnold’s submission saying;
“You might be surprised because you see, where we always get it wrong is that, the Grammys has an element of originality. That is why people like Rocky Dawuni continuously get nominated, so don’t underestimate the Blakk Rasta that Arnold has mentioned. You might just be surprised. Blakk Rasta has over the years carved a certain niche for himself.”

The two are in Kumasi ahead of their theatre production, Run For Your Wife which shows at the KNUST CCB Auditorium on Saturday, 9th November, 2024. The performances are scheduled for 4 PM and 7 PM.
In February 2024, Blakk Rasta unveiled his 20-track album “Salaga Soulja” at the La Palm Royale Beach Hotel in Accra.
Months later, the musician revealed he had submitted his album for consideration in the Best Reggae Album category at the 67th Grammy Awards.
Nominees for the 2025 Grammy Awards will be announced on Friday, November 8, 2024.
