If You Think The Church Is A Place To Make Money, Come And Try It – Apostle Abraham Lamptey

Apostle Abraham Lamptey, the founder and leader of the Believers House Of Worship International has admonished Ghanaians to disabuse their minds of the notion that the church is a place of money making.

Responding to a question posed by Johnnie Hughes on 3FM Drive which suggested that the church has become a fertile ground for money making hence individuals who have not tasted any form of employment venturing into it, the pastor and evangelist quizzed the host.

“Johnny, don’t you want money? If doing church is a business venture, what are you doing here?” he quizzed the host.

If you think it is a place to make money, come and try it.  Who will see a source of making money without sweat and still not go there but accuse it? he further asked.

He has therefore advised society to disabuse their minds of the notion.

“We have to get out of this myopic thinking that the church has become a place of money making. Everybody wants money so if you have discovered a venue where you can make money, come and try it. Then you will know whether it is or it isn’t.”

Making a case for the church, he referred to contributions the church makes towards the development of the country.

“You don’t talk about the schools built by churches that have been taken over by governments yet churches are still building schools. Churches are putting up hospitals, sponsoring people into the universities yet we don’t talk about that. When a church member gets a breakthrough, it’s a miracle, when the pastor buys a car, it is church money. Yet the civil servant is paid by the one who he works. Who should pay the pastor? Is it not the church members?
