Making it to mainstream in the UK is no joke and no mean achievement and therefore comes as welcoming news when Ghanaian Afrobeats international artist Fuse ODG makes it big and occupies two enviable spots on the UK Hot 100 Best Of 2014 list which was recently released by Official Charts.
A tall list with evergreen producer and musician Pharrell Williams peacefully leading the top pack with his 2014 hit single “Happy” and many others including songs from international superstars John Legend, George Ezra, Nico & Vinz, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Eminem, Nicki Minaj, Ed Sheeran, Sia, Chris Brown and many others, Fuse ODG comes in at the 52nd and 92nd positions with “Million Pound Girl” and “Dangerous Love” which features dancehall act Sean Paul respectively; a big plus for him.
Both songs are featured on his 16 track debut album “T.I.N.A“, an abbreviation for “This Is New Africa” a campaig he mounted since he rose to prominence.
Fuse ODG’s songs have featured prominently on major radio shows such as BBC Radio 1 Xtra and has played major gigs from around the world including his home country Ghana.
Fuse ODG’s rise to fame over the past few years might look like just the speed of light for many who just heard of him but his hard work is unparalled and this has won him several awards including a back to back win of the Best African Act at the MOBOs, AFRIMMA, Ghana Music Awards and more.
Congratulations from www.nydjlive.com and we wish you the best of the new year.
