“Fuse ODG sold Azonto to the world and not Sarkodie” – NY DJ

As the year goes to an end and we critically assess Ghana’s biggest musical export and the craze around Azonto, there seemed to be that  question which was yet to be discussed. Quite known to be a subject no one discusses, the voice of urban radio in the Garden City of Kumasi and host of Kapital Radio’s Drive Time show Ebenezer Donkoh popularly known as NY DJ has aired his opinion on the issue with regards to who really needs to be credited for selling Azonto to the world.

Although this has been an issue many industry players will not talk about because of their affiliations to particular artists, NY DJ said, it is time the industry became honest to itself and gave credit tb113e4b3a17dcb0990cb153461c00104o whoever deserved it than who had a lot of affiliations. Contrary to many alluding to Sarkodie, NY DJ shared a different opinion.

In an interview with www.nydjlive.com, NY DJ said,

It is indisputable that Sarkodie made an impact with his hit track, “U go kill me”, however we must not loose sight of the fact the Ghanaian born UK based artist Fuse ODG single handedly sold Azonto throughout the world. From organizing dance competitions worldwide and shooting video clips from around the world. He recently even had a world celebrated artist such as Wyclef feature in his remix of Antenna song.

With the floor opened for the discussion, we ask, “Who really sold Azonto to the world?”
