Funke Akindele-Bello’s Name Removed From “Avengers: Infinity War”

We just moved from Team Hailers to Team Wailers.

A few days ago, we reported that Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele-Bello’s, name appeared as a cast in the Marvel Comic’s Avengers: Infinity War. The actress was slated to play the role of Dora Milaje, a bodyguard of Black Panther. This was going to be the first time a Nigerian-based actor will feature in a Hollywood comic superhero movie. As a cast, she was to feature alongside Scarlett Johansson, Chris Pratt and Don Cheadle.

The news which was seen as a national achievement spread across Nigerian states and even memes were made out of it. Also, the movie was added to the actress’s IMDb page as part of the movies Akindele-Bello had acted in.

However, the news took a different turn on Saturday, the 13th of January, when it was discovered that Akindele-Bello’s name was no longer found on the cast list on the movie’s IMDb page. The reason for this sudden development is unknown. Before now, the movie had been added to the actress’s IMDb page.

As at the time of writing, the Jenifa’s Diary star is yet to confirm or deny the report that she will appear in the movie.
