It is often said that to every rumour, there is a bit of truth and that is exactly the case with rumours that flew that the Film Producers’ Association of Ghana (FIPAG) were rolling out plans for Ghana Film Awards. This means Fred Nuamah’s Ghana Movie Awards is in for a competition.
Well, www.nydjlive.com can confirm that FIPAG on Wednesday September 24 2014, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Multi TV to partner in organizing the first edition of the Ghana Film Awards as well the Ghana Film Festival.
It can be recalled that, the Film Producers’ Association of Ghana advised its members not to participate in the Ghana Movie Awards since the organizers had for the past years disregarded and disrespected the the association and its members.
Early this year during a refresher course for producers in Kumasi, president of the association made it know that plans had been put in place to commence the Ghana Film Awards and the Film Festival. The Silverbirds cinema has also promised to partner in making the movie industry a better one.
