Kumawood actor and television presenter Big Akwes is in hot waters as colleague actor Bill Asamoah has via his lawyers, Akufo-Addo, Prempeh & Co served him a demand notice.
Sections of the demand notice obtained by us, Ghana’s Hub For Pop Culture & Urban Entertainment News -www.nydjlive.com, read;
“We are informed by our client that you have for some time now made several defamatory and unsavoury remarks on various mainstream media and social media platforms about our client for apparently no reason whatsoever. It is our client’s case that for instance, recently on the show “Entertainment Review” on Peace FM 104.3 in Accra, you categorically made a statement to the effect that our client was in an amourous relationship with one Maame Serwaa, a Kumawood actor and that our client has sexually known her…”
According to the lawyers, the utterances and conducts directed at tarnishing the image of Bill Asamoah for no cause were “unlawful, defamatory and an affront to the personal liberties of our client..”
The demand notice also states that the unwarranted utterances by Big Akwes directed at Bill Asamoah has caused a lot of public ridicule and embarrassment and has affected his marital and family relations.
Bill Asamoah would however not file a law suit but via the demand notice ask Big Akwes to “as a matter of urgency and in your own interest withdraw unconditionally the said statement made by you on the said radio show with the same prominence as the original statement and to render an unqualified apology to our client for the disgrace and embarrassment caused him by your reckless statement within seven (7) days of receipt of this notice.
