Sam Pee Yalley, former Ghanaian High Commissioner to India and President of the NDC Professionals Forum, has passed away.
It is not immediately known what led to his sudden demise.
His death was announced by Malik Basintale, the deputy national communications officer of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), in a Facebook post on Sunday, April 6.
The NDC scribe paid tribute to Amb. Yalley, who was a respected diplomat, public figure, and a regular panellist on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana show. He described him as “a good man” and expressed hope of reuniting with him someday.
“You were a good man! We shall meet again someday, H.E., as I always called you,” Malik Basintale.
Sam Pee Yalley was a seasoned lawyer and government official who served as deputy chief executive officer of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority.
He was appointed Ghana’s ambassador to India by President John Mahama in 2014.
Sam Pee Yalley was known for his advocacy, particularly in promoting female leadership in Ghana.
During his tenure as ambassador, Sam Pee Yalley championed Ghana’s interests abroad and fostered strong diplomatic ties with India.
