All You Need To Know About Maame Efua Houadjeto – The New CEO Of Ghana Tourism Authority
Maame Efua Houadjeto, former Deputy Women’s Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has been appointed the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority.
Maame Efua will replace Akwasi Agyeman, who resigned from the post about a week ago after serving in the office for about eight years.
The Ghana Tourism Authority, one of the thirteen agencies under the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, is mandated to make Ghana the preferred sustainable tourism destination. It is committed to sustainable tourism development through deploying the best technology and ICT, effective regulation, and standardization.
About Maame Efua Houadjeto
Mrs Marilyn Maame Efua Houadjeto is a results-driven personality and has a track record of successfully and consistently exceeding goals and objectives in event productions and project management.
Maame Efua is the CEO of the Image Consortium Group, which she founded in 2005, and she occupies that position to date.
She also served as the Managing Director/Creative Director of IE Design (Interior & Exterior Design Company).
She was also the acting general manager of MPlaza Hotel from February 2002 to January 2003 and the room division manager from January 2000 to December 2001.
Maame Efua became the Head of Client Service of Charter House Productions from March 1998 to September 1999 and the Chest Service & Marketing Executive/PA to Executive Director of Media Touch from March 1996 to June 1998.
She was the Client Service & Marketing Executive of StratComm Africa from February 1995 to January 1996.
Before setting up her own companies, she did her national service at the State Protocol Department (Office of the President).
Maame Efua is a product of Our Lady of Apostles (OLA) Girls Senior High School, Ho, where she did her GCE O’Levels and A-levels. She continued in her mother’s footsteps and pursued a Diploma in Communications, Journalism, and Marketing at the Ghana Institute of Journalism.
She obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
At Coventry University (UK), she pursued a postgraduate course in engineering project management. She is currently pursuing an MSc in Engineering and Management.
She was elected the Deputy National Women’s Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the largest opposition party in Ghana.
