Despite huge response and commendations from Ghanaians on his artistic prowess, Ghana’s rap doctor and CEO of One Mic Entertainment, Okyeame Kwame well known for popular hit tracks such as Woso, Faithful, Woara and so many others have stated his best musical works are never popular in Ghana but he’s not so much disturbed as great men such as Shakespeare and Aristotle their poetic works were not better appreciated in their times until several decades after their demise. 
Okyeame Kwame made this known in an interview with www.nydjlive.com when he reacted to general assertions in the media that his musical works were too academic and very difficult for the normal music loving fan to receive the messages he really wants to carry although they love his works.
Explaining reasons behind the academic approach to his musical works, Okyeame Kwame explained aside the aesthetics of making music and entertaining listeners, his main aim is to educate and get people study his music as works of literature.
He is quoted as saying “I feel good when people sing and dance to my songs but it hurts to know the real message is somehow not communicated to a wide audience. How many people really get my messages? Music is not just to entertain as it has become dominant in Ghana lately. I did everything humanly possible to promote Anaa but it was never a hit perhaps people only want to dance.”
Speaking on how his musical works would be better appreciated henceforth, Okyeame Kwame stated he’s not really looking at anytime soon but perhaps years after his demise just like William Shakespeare’s works are currently been studied.
Okyeame Kwame is currently working on a sixteen track album “African Connections” which he discloses will feature different artists from all over Africa.
