Ghanaian content creator and TikTok sensation Ebo Noah, known for his viral doomsday flood prophecy, has officially been hauled before the law.
In a move that has sparked massive conversation across social media, Evans Eshun, popularly known as Ebo Noah, was arraigned before the Adentan Circuit Court on Friday, January 2, 2026.
The 33-year-old content creator, who gained international notoriety for claiming a global flood would destroy the world on Christmas Day 2025, has been charged with false communication with the intent to cause fear and panic, as well as deliberately misleading the public contrary to Section 76 of the Electronic Communications Act 2008 (Act 775).
During his first court appearance, the presiding judge ordered that Ebo Noah be remanded into police custody for two weeks.
In a surprising twist, the court also ordered a psychiatric evaluation at the Pantang Psychiatric Hospital. This assessment is to determine whether the suspect is of sound mind to stand trial or if his actions were influenced by underlying mental health issues.
Police reports indicate that during interrogation, the suspect admitted his claims were purely for “online engagement” and content creation to grow his social media following.
On summary conviction, Ebo Noah could be liable to a fine of not more than three thousand penalty units (GHC 36,000) or to a term of imprisonment of not more than five years or both.
Ebo Noah’s rise to fame began in late 2025 when he began posting videos of what he called “modern-day arks”. He urged Ghanaians and the world to prepare for a three-year flood disaster.
However, investigation by the Ghana Police Service revealed that the boats Noah showcased in his videos were not his. According to Chief Superintendent Seth Sewornu, Director of the Special Investigation Unit, the boats belonged to third parties, and Noah simply filmed himself beside them to create a deceptive narrative.
When December 25th passed without a drop of catastrophic rain, Noah made a quick U-turn, appearing in a video to claim that he had interceded with God through fasting to “postpone” the disaster. He later made a surprising appearance at Sarkodie’s Rapperholic 2025 concert, where he urged the crowd to celebrate the supposed postponement.
The law finally caught up with him on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2025, when the Special Cyber Vetting Team of the Ghana Police Service arrested him in Weija-Gbawe while he was live-streaming.
The arrest has divided the internet. While many are applauding the police for cracking down on “fake prophets” and misinformation that causes public anxiety, others argue that his content was clearly satirical and that the arrest might infringe on free speech.
Ebo Noah is expected back in court on January 16, 2026, after the results of his psychiatric evaluation are submitted.
