Outspoken MC and events hypeman David Germain Portfolio popularly known as MC Portfolio has shot down opinions that suggest he did not deserve the Event MC/Hypeman of the Year Award at the 2024 Ghana DJ Awards.
Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime, MC Portfolio stressed his contributions to the industry and highlighted his efforts which won nationwide acceptance.
“Some of us are the few versatile ones who have registered some presence across the country. We’ve done some of the biggest events in the country but you might not know because they are not done in the national capital,” he said.
“Talking about walkability, no MC has influenced pop culture this year than MC Portfolio. This is not opinion but facts! Everyone knows this,” he added.
MC Portfolio also explained why he best deserved the Event MC/Hypeman of the Year award at the 2024 Ghana DJ Awards.

“MC Portfolio is one of the few versatile MCs that defines that category better in Ghana. I satisfy both the MC and Hypeman definitions with so much panache and you can’t take that away from me. I am the real representation of that category.”
Following the controversies surrounding the tie in the winners, MC Portfolio advised the organizers to create separate categories for MC and Hypeman at the Ghana DJ Awards.
“I hope they could detach or create a sub-category to represent people for who they are. Boxing MCs and Hypemen together has over the years desensitized people who are not into nightlife but other MCS are killing it.”
On Saturday, November 9, 2024, YFM Accra’s Kojo Manuel and MC Portfolio were announced winners in the Best MC/Hypeman category at the 2024 Ghana DJ Awards held at the Palms Convention Center in Accra, Ghana.
