Affectionately known as Kojo Poet, young Kingsley Kojo Antwi was on Friday November 15th 2013 honoured with the “Pentasi B” Historical Forum Award And World Friendship Poetry Celebration 2013 in honour of Dr. Penpen B. Takipslim (father of visual poetry) in the Philippines for his contribution towards poetry in Ghana and Kumasi to be precise . The awards event also celebrated other poets doing very well in their respective countries.
Kojo Poet who had only 72 hours within which to make the choice of attending the awards ceremony defied all odds just as many did not believe in him to pick up the enviable award.
Kojo Poet who could not hide his feelings disclosed he was so appreciative to have made it that far.
Few days before I traveled outside Ghana, I was given many discouraging words from people very close to me and the one which almost brought my trip to an end was from someone very very close to me who said I was worry myself going to a country like Philippines to take an award made of paper, I was so hurt that I almost cried. Once again a good friend of mine told me to hold on tight because there will be more discouraging situations which will come my way so I needed to pray hard. I received my award yesterday and is so heavy that is difficult to carry around, is made of high quality glass. what I have learnt is when your a step closer to victory it is easier to give up but keep faith and stay close to people whose faith is more than yours. Coming here is the biggest turn around of life for me .
