Over the past few months, the Ghanaian showbiz industry has seen loads of Public Display of Affection (PDA’s) with some of these celebrities either proposing to their partners on major stages during live award shows with very almost all ending not so well yet, we are yet to see more.
The first of such major PDAs was exhibited when former Big Brother Africa house-mate Elikem Kudordzi proposed to his girlfriend (I don’t know they still are an item) Pokello Nare during the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. This gave room for another one which happened in my own Kumasi during the last but one edition of the Kumawood and Akoben Movie Awards now known as Kumawood and Akoben Film Festival Awards.
Well known face in long running TV programme Efiewura, Gloria Sarfo known as Nana Ama was shocked as his supposed boyfriend from the United States proposed to her live on stage as she received an award. A year down the line, nothing has been heard of them since the actress who out of all her happiness flaunted the ring some time back hardly does it or seen wearing the same ring.
The question now is, would we see another PDA that would fall into a fiasco?
During the 4th edition of the KAFF Awards which was recently aired on Adom TV, Ghanaian actress Empress Nana Ama McBrown kept a lot of people (including) myself wondering as she introduced her boyfriend Maxwell to the crowd during her acceptance speech.
The introduction of the boyfriend however was no problem at all to me but I felt a bit awkward when she kind of hinted on her desperation to marry.
Well, guess you want to know exactly what she said.
Nana Ama McBrown, after thanking God for sparing her life and that of her fiance Maxwell during a near death accident two (2) years ago expressed appreciation for the support his fiance, Maxwell, who was with her in the Range Rover. She also disclosed Maxwell has been a good person to her but was waiting anxiously waiting for one thing; A PROPOSAL.
“Maxwell was with me in the car and two years down the line, he’s been very supportive…..All I’m waiting for is him to ask me to marry him….”
Really? Like seriously? Is desperation setting in?
This may not be the real case but this got the MC (thinking just like me) jokingly asking Maxwell to hurry up with plans to marry Nana Ama McBrown as she said; “My dresses are getting tighter”
