Ghana’s National Regulatory Body, the Food And Drugs Authority (FDA), has advised the general public from patronizing products that purport to enlarge any part of the body.
The admonishment comes after the attention of the Food And Drugs Authority was drawn to a body enlargement product allegedly being sold by a musician and actress by the name, of Yaa Jackson.
According to the Authority, it has not sanctioned any such product to be sold and consumed by the public.
It also expressed its appreciation to vigilant individuals who report such concerns.
“Thank you for the alert. We appreciate vigilant individuals who report such concerns. While our team investigates further, we emphasize that the FDA has not approved any product for body part enlargement. The public should refrain from purchasing this and any similar product.”

The FDA’s legal mandate is found in Part 6 (Tobacco Control Measures), Part 7 (organisation and responsibilities of the FDA), and Part 8 (Clinical trials) of the Public Health Act, 2012 Act 851.
The FDA is the National Regulatory Body responsible for regulating food, drugs, food supplements, herbal and homoeopathic medicines, veterinary medicines, cosmetics, medical devices, household chemical substances, tobacco and tobacco products, blood and blood products as well as conducting clinical trial protocols.
