WATCH: Empress Gifty Breaks Down In Tears After Winning Artist of the Year At Ghana Music Awards USA 2025

Gospel music star Empress Gifty broke down in tears as she received the award for Artist of the Year at the just-ended Ghana Music Awards USA 2025.

In her acceptance speech, an emotional Empress Gifty thanked her fans, management team, family and the media for their unwavering support throughout her career. She also expressed appreciation to Kuami Eugene for his immense support.

“Thank you, God of Hagaga. She prepared a table before me in the presence of my enemies, and he anoints my hair with oil… Thank you to everybody who voted for me.”

She also paid tribute to her late mum, saying,

“I wish my mum was here” (sobs).

Empress Gifty’s win was particularly significant for her as she beat some of Ghana’s biggest names in the music industry, including King Promise, King Paluta, and other celebrated acts.

The win has since generated a lot of conversation among fans and industry professionals alike as they share varying opinions.
