WATCH: Davido’s Microphone Muted During Acceptance Speech At 2018 BET Awards

Nigerian Afrobeats Davido could not have enough time to fully express himself at the just ended 2018 BET Awards as his acceptance speech was cut short.

Typical of most artists, Davido walked up stage all excited but could not finish his speech as it seemed his thoughts were not well put together.

Again, Davido seemed to be spending too much time on stage. His microphone was muted as he spoke signalling him to leave the stage.

Davido during his acceptance speech called on other African American artists to visit Africa, collaborate with musicians from the continent, patronise their food and wear their clothes.

He was also announced he has an upcoming album and sent out condolences to D’Banj who lost his 1 year old son.

The FIA hit maker beat stiff competition from 10 others including Booba (France), Cassper Nyovest (SA), Dadju (France), Distruction Boyz (SA), Fally Ipupa (Dr. Congo), J Hus (UK), Niska (France), Tiwa Savage (Nigeria), Stefflon Don (UK) and Stormzy (UK) to win the Best International Act at the 2018 BET Awards.

Unlike previous years where winners for the category was announced in a separate event prior to the main awards show, the Best International Act, Africa and Best International Act, UK categories for this year’s event were merged with the winner being announced on the main stage.
