The fight against the dominance of foreign content on Ghanaian media platforms by industry players and content creators is real.
Despite a heated call few months back, things seem not to have changed and the result is exactly what happened recently as half of Ghanaian music group Ruff N Smooth, Bullet confronted a producer at TV3 Network for disrespecting her colleague musician.
According to the musician it was total disrespect to have Ebony (Ghanaian dancehall artist) wait all the moment at an event she had been invited to perform only to find Nigerian music been played all throughout.
According to him, the act of disrespect had been going on for a while and needed to stop.
“An artist wakes up at 5am, drives all the way from West Legon to here, play her music and you are there playing Nigerian music. You are there playing P Square, P Square don’t even know you exist. You called her to come here and host a programme and you didn’t even play one of her videos.”
Ebony is signed to Ruff Town Records which is owned by Bullet of Ruff N Smooth.
