Kids across the African continent will soon enjoy hilarious and amazing new content produced by Turner on DStv.
This was made known in a round table press conference at the Outrigger Beach resort in Mauritius where Multi Choice Africa is holding it’s Content Showcase Extravaganza.
Cartoon Network the quirky, universally appealing boy focused, girl inclusive channel on DStv channel 301 with is up with a big programming line-up, which will include brand new original Cartoon Network produced shows, such as We Bare Bears and Over the Garden Wall and; the remakes of two firm favourites; The Powerpuff Girls and Ben 10; and a total of 700 brand new episodes for their African audience to look forward to in 2016, Cartoon Network are truly offering fresh and entertaining content as part of their biggest programming line-up across Africa ever.
We Bare Bears, debuting on African screens in December 2015, was created by Annie Award-winner Daniel Chong (Toy Story of Terror!). This fun and relevant show was discovered as part of Cartoon Network Studios’ global, award-winning shorts program, where its original short won the “Young Amsterdam Audience Award” in 2014 at the prestigious KLIK! Amsterdam Animation Festival. Cartoon Network fans will follow three bear brothers, Grizz, Panda and Ice Bear on their mission to enter human society. These three tech savvy creatures mimic modern ‘hip’ human behaviour, and are too masters of the Selfie, are fans of Food Trucks and too seek Internet Fame. The characters are relatable to the modern day kid as they hashtag and tweet to get around.
Over the garden Wall, which will launch in October 2015, is Cartoon Network’s first ever animated miniseries with an all-star casting which consists of Elijah Wood, John Cleese and Tim Curry to name but a few.
