This Is Exactly Why Tourism Minister Catherine Afeku And MUSIGA Executives Visited Zylofon Media CEO
Moments after pictures of a recent meeting between executives of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Minister of Tourism, Culture and Arts Catherine Afeku and CEO of Zylofon Media, Nana Appiah Mensah surfaced online, many have run wild with commentaries on possible reasons why the meeting was conveyed.
Some hold the opinion that the gathering was for MUSIGA to seek financial assistance from the CEO of Zylofon Media who seems have a great stake and interest in he music industry but far from that.
The very reasons for the meeting have been revealed exclusively to Ghana’s Hub For Pop Culture & Urban Entertainment News – www.nydjlive.com.
According to Head of Communications and Special Projects at Musicians Union of Ghana, MUSIGA, Ahuma Bosco Ocansey who spoke to www.nydjlive.com, the Union met Nana Appiah Mensah to officially thank him and that the Minister’s presence was a mere coincidence.
“When we (MUSIGA) did the grand ball in December, Nana wasn’t in town, however Becca who represented him at the ball made a pledge..they actually bought the xylophone that was sold (Agya Koo Nimo’s xylophone that was auctioned). Zylofon actually bought it so it was basically to go and thank them for the support they had rendered for the grand ball and also to renew our acquaintance with Zylofon. The first time MUSIGA met Zylofon, Nana Appiah wasn’t in town,” he said.
Looking carefully at the broad smiles on the faces of all individuals present at the meeting, it seems the meeting was really an exciting one and Ahuma Bosco affirms that.
“It was really an exciting moment. You know Nana Appiah Mensah is someone who has key love and respect for Ghanaian music and so having Agya Koo Nimo, Nana Ampadu, Asabea Kropa and other legends who he says were people his grandfather listened to and took him along to watch perform was really an exciting one especially as they played for him.”
Speaking on the presence of Catherine Afeku, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Arts, Ahuma Bosco said was that purely coincidental.
“The Minister ‘s bit was purely coincidental. She also had a meeting with Nana Appiah and she decided to go to Zylofon instead of calling Nana to come over to her office…”
Ahuma Bosco also hinted of upcoming projects with Zylofon Media.
