The Golden Boy Album: KiDi Knows His Next 3 Hit Singles

Although every artist walks into the recording booth with high hopes of producing a material that would be widely accepted (hits), the reality is that it is almost impossible to point out to the next potential hit.

The case is however different with Lynx Entertainment signed artist KiDi who is very confident of what would be the next three (3) hit singles off his newly released The Golden Boy album.

Speaking exclusively to NY DJ on Y102.5FM, KiDi, who recently picked up four (4) awards at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards ’22 tipped Mon Bebe and Send Me Nudes as the next potential.

Mon Bebe
“This was one of the easiest records to write on the album, actually. I did an initial demo. It took me probably 30 minutes to finish the song. One tough part of music writing, for me, is always getting the first melodic line or first lyric. Once I get the first line in check, every other part of the song just falls into place.”

Send Me Nudes (feat. Joey B)

“This song actually came to me two years ago. [Ghanaian producer] GuiltyBeatz and I were just playing around with the piano, just messing around, and I was freestyling—and for some wicked reason, I just started singing, ‘Send me nudes. Ohhh. Send me nudes.’ This is the song everybody can relate to. It was funny even to me when I was singing, that I was making such a thirsty song sound so romantic. This song is so thirsty. Like, I’m literally begging a girl to send me nudes. But it sounds so romantic.”

KiDi also hopes Birthday Riddim off the album becomes a street anthem especially since people celebrate their birthdays each day.

On June 24, 2021, KiDi released his second album, 2 years after the Sugar album.

Prior to the release of The Golden Boy album, KiDi held a private album listening in Kwahu, his hometown.
